Meet Our Team
Chris Tuohey was an active player in high school and college. His love for the game turned into a career that started in 1994 at Bayou Oaks golf course, a 72-hole municipality located in the heart of New Orleans. In 1995, he accepted the position as Assistant Golf Professional at Colonial Country Club, a private facility in New Orleans where he worked his way up from an entry-level Assistant to the Head Golf Professional. In 2002, Chris accepted the position as Head Golf Professional and Marketing Director at Ormond Country Club, located just outside of New Orleans. In 2003, Chris went back to Bayou Oaks Golf Courses serving as the Head Golf Professional. In August, 2005, Chris was uprooted from New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina devastated Bayou Oaks. Chris served as the General Manager at Foxwood Golf Club in Jacksonville, Arkansas from October 2005 to March 2006 until he accepted the position as General Manager at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.
A 2000 graduate of Kansas State University, James began working for KemperSports as assistant superintendent during the grow in at Shoal Creek in Kansas City, MO. In August 2005, he was promoted to superintendent and took on the task of growing in Sand Creek Station in Newton, KS
Laurie joined our staff in 2013 as Controller after moving back to her home state of Kansas. She enjoys the beauty of the Sand Creek Station Golf Course and the wide variety of people who come daily to take advantage of the unique and challenging course. She doesn't play golf, but we enjoy a challenge so we'll get her out on the course soon!
Zach joined our staff in 2009 working as a cart attendant, followed by Assistant Golf Professional, Sales and Marketing Director, then Head Golf Professional. He graduated from Bethel College (KS) where he played on the golf team. Upon graduating he began the PGA Apprentice Program and was our Head Golf Professional for three years prior to moving to El Paso, TX to serve at Butterfield Trail Golf Club (KemperSports) as the Head Golf Professional. Zach returned to Sand Creek Station in November, 2017 to resume as our Professional. Check out our Player Development videos on our Facebook page (#SCProTIp). Dustin joined the staff at Sand Creek Station in 2009 and has continued to work at our facility wearing many hats. Most recently, he accepted the position of Tournament Director and handles our many corporate and internal events. Dustin grew up in Memphis, TN before moving to Newton, KS prior to attending High School. He is working toward a degree in Business Administration from Wichita State and will graduate in the fall.
Antonio joined our staff in 2014 as a cart attendant and also helped out our kitchen staff during our busy summer months. Antonio then began to show his skills in the kitchen by assisting our F&B Director for the past year cooking for events and day to day play. Antonio's ambition and work ethic made it easy to introduce him as our Food and Beverage Director for 2018.
